National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence

16 Mar 2018 08:45am

Friday is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence so what are we doing about that at Applecross Primary School?

We know that bullying is when someone says or does something intentionally hurtful and they keep doing it.

We also know that sometimes people say and do something hurtful without realising the impact.

We also know that sometimes people say and do something hurtful once or twice.

These actions might not be bullying but they are a concern.

The Prefects and Rangers would like to help kids make a change.

At lunchtime this week you can meet with Prefects and Rangers by the canteen wall to share your thoughts and ideas.

We would like to know what you find hurtful. What makes you feel sad, left out, excluded, helpless or upset?

We would like to know why people are hurtful to others? Are they bossy, jealous or angry?

We would also like your ideas on how kids can make a change? How can we help kids to be kind, like we sing in our school song?

Once we know how you feel the Prefects and Rangers will plan a campaign to help everyone treat each other the way they would like to be treated.
